Sound & Spirit Radio Program

Underwater Airport is all about sound and spirit, so it is only appropriate that our first blog post should pay tribute to an amazing, long-running radio program on Boston's WGBH called Sound & Spirit.

Host Ellen Kushner masterfully weaves together music with cultural and historical insights, producing one delightful program after another. I recently was driving and listening to NPR (as usual) and heard some of her Gamelan program.

You can hear this, and many other wonderful archived shows, at theĀ Sound & Spirit website.

The Gamelan program has peaked my interest in the Canadian composer Colin McPhee, who traveled to Bali in the 1930s, and produced some fantastic music incorporating Gamelan sounds.

Colin McPhee's "Nocturne" on YouTube.

Enjoy!

If somebody somehow happened to make a stride back and to think about how they typically feel, what may turn out to be clear is that they regularly feel low and even discouraged. This could be the manner by which they have felt for as far back as they can recollect. Rent a car services in Sialkot Pakistan
